A Heartfelt Tribute to John and a Generous Donation from His Family

We recently said goodbye to John, a former resident of Ravenscroft, who sadly passed away. John had a wonderful send-off, with many coming together to celebrate his life and the memories he left behind.

      • Charity Donations: During the funeral, money was raised in support of charities close to John’s heart. His family, in a beautiful gesture, decided to donate £230 to the service users at Ravenscroft.

We are deeply grateful for this generous contribution, which will go towards enriching the lives of our service users. John’s memory will continue to live on at Ravenscroft, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to his family for their kindness during this difficult time.

Confucius wisely said, “The expectations of life depend upon diligence; the mechanic that would perfect his work must first sharpen his tools.” This reminds us of that continuous personal development is essential to both personal and professional success. Just as a mechanic must maintain his tools to do quality work, we too must invest in our skills and knowledge to offer the best care possible.

At Ashdown, we are committed to your growth, offering numerous training opportunities to sharpen your abilities. Upcoming courses such as Therapeutic CareAttachment Disorder, and Trauma-Informed Approaches will help you deepen your understanding of how to support young people through trauma-sensitive practices. Topics will cover:

      • Attachment Theory: Learn the importance of secure attachment in child development.
      • Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs): Explore their long-term impact on young people.
      • Psychologically Informed Environments: Create spaces that promote healing and growth.
      • Fostering a Therapeutic Environment: Cultivate an atmosphere for emotional recovery and development.

By continuing to learn and refine our tools, we can better support the people in our care and ensure they thrive.
