Over 20 years ago I decided to pursue a vocation in care and began in a nursing home caring for the elderly. The experience of working with adults with learning disabilities appealed to me, possibility due to personal experience of disabilities touching my own life.

I have worked for Ashdown Care since 1995, firstly at Southill Road then in 1998 I transferred to our new home Ravenscroft where I accepted the post of Deputy Manager. I enjoyed the many additional responsibilities and felt that Learning Disabilities was my vocation. In 2005 I was appointed Home Manager of Ravenscroft and then in November 2009 I became Home Manager of South Hill.

I have a stepdaughter who has given me 3 lovely granddaughters; I have 2 sons, and two special grandsons. My mother and siblings remain an important part of my life. I have good friendships spanning over 30 years and we continue to retain supportive and firm friendships throughout life changing events.

I spend weekends mostly in a family environment and enjoy leisure pursuits either with friends or family.
